On 10 June 1943 Gestapo officials entered the Berlin community offices and announced that they would be closed and their employees, with exception of those in mixed marriages, would be deported. The offices of the Reich Representation were notified in the same way that they would be transferred to the Jewish hospital of Berlin and that all employees would be deported. The Jewish hospital continued to be open until the end of the war. Its director was put in charge of the Reich Representation, dealing with the mixed families and Jews protected from deportation who had remained in Germany.
